Fertility Clinics in Taiwan

Taiwan is one of Asia's top fertility tourism destinations, with 103 government-licensed ART institutions and a record 11,549 IVF births in 2022 — more than double a decade prior. The country's embryo implantation rate of 36.7% ranks second globally, comparable to the United States. IVF cycles typically cost NT$150,000 – $250,000 (USD $4,700 – $7,800), and egg freezing runs approximately NT$80,000 – $180,000 (USD $2,500 – $5,600) — a fraction of US pricing.

Taiwan is uniquely donor-friendly in Asia. Under the 2007 Assisted Reproduction Act, anonymous egg and sperm donation are legal, with egg donors aged 20–39 compensated up to NT$99,000 and sperm donors aged 20–49 up to NT$8,000. All donations are strictly anonymous — recipients cannot request specific donors. Several cities including Taipei, Taichung, and Hsinchu now offer government subsidies for egg freezing, and the IVF Subsidy 3.0 program provides up to NT$150,000 per cycle for patients under 39.

A key restriction: IVF treatment is currently only available to heterosexual married couples, though a December 2025 draft amendment proposes extending access to single women and same-sex married couples (pending Legislative Yuan review). Taiwan's fertility hubs are Taipei (the capital, with the most clinics), Hsinchu (Stork Fertility's flagship), and Taichung (home to Lee Women's Hospital and NUWA). International patients — primarily from Hong Kong, Japan, China, and Singapore — are well served by English-speaking coordinators at most clinics.
